Dr. Laura Medina has worked with the United States military for over twenty-five years; both as an active-duty Navy veteran and as a government contractor for one of the top three defense contracting companies in the world. Laura leads two cyber-security teams and is a manager for her companies IT organization based out of Aurora, Colorado. She has over twenty-five years’ experience in the IT and engineering fields.
Volunteering and giving back to her community is very important to Laura. She sits on the board of directors for local non-profit organizations: Wine and Dresses, Raices Cyber-security Organization, and Colorado Dreamers and Creators. Additionally, she volunteers for many non-profits including Pinups for Vets, Great Minds in STEM, Girls Who Code, American Legion, Girls and Boys Club of Colorado, and others. She also is a member of the Society of Hispanic Engineers (SHPE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE).
Laura also spends her time modeling for many local and international clothing designers, has been featured in several fashion magazines, and has walked for many of the top fashion runways in the world including New York Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Week, as well as Colorado, Denver, Asia, Hispanic, and other fashion week shows.
In her free time, she spends as much time humanly possible with her rescue pup Dogtor Shadow.
